ATEX Enclosures

E-Abel flameproof enclosures are intended to contain dangerous electric components for vehicles or engines installed in hazardous areas (ATEX).

We manufacture our enclosures in steel or in stainless steel (for harsh and heavy environmental conditions, for example OFFSHORE), allowing us this way, to manufacture any shape and size to fits our customer needs. Our  enclosures are ideal for small spaces, because they are tailor made, under the customer request. Also available in additional accessories: fans, dissipating fins, fixing point, hinges and handles.

Your ATEX Enclosure Manufacturers

E-abel manufactures ATEX enclosures that can be safely applied in areas where there are flammable liquids, gases, or dust particles. They shield mechanical engines and electrical components from such ignitable agents that could cause fires or explosions.

Our ATEX enclosures are manufactured using steel or stainless steel depending on the conditions of the site where they will be applied. We also offer enclosure accessories such as fans, hinges, and dissipating fins.

Custom ATEX Enclosure Suppliers

We are a certified custom explosion-proof junction box supplier. Our custom ATEX enclosures are uniquely designed or modified based on the requirements and environment of the application. Our design team would evaluate your project and recommend possible customization options.

We offer custom ATEX enclosures in tailor-made shapes, sizes, and installation styles. We also recommend custom NEMA enclosures and material options based on the harshness of the environment and anticipated exposure to hazardous substances.

What Are ATEX Enclosures?

ATEX enclosures are explosion-proof electrical boxes named after the ATEX Directive. The directive is a set of safety standards established by the European Union to guide the use of electrical enclosures in hazardous areas. It stipulates that all ATEX-certified enclosures should provide specific levels of protection against hazardous or explosive materials.

Supply All Types of ATEX Enclosures

Group 1 ATEX Enclosures

This group comprises 2 categories of protection:

  • M1- the ATEX enclosure should keep the encased equipment running in explosive conditions
  • M2- the ATEX enclosure should de-energize the equipment in explosive conditions
  • Group 2 ATEX Enclosures

The ATEX enclosures in this group are differentiated into 3.

  • Category 1- ATEX enclosures for use in environments where explosive gases, mists, vapors, or dust occur frequently and remain in the atmosphere
  • Category 2- ATEX enclosures for use in areas where explosive atmospheres are likely to be caused by the gases, vapors, mists, or dust present
  • Category 3- ATEX enclosures for use in areas where explosive gases, vapors, mist, or dust are unlikely to occur or tend to only occur intermittently
