Regular Protection of Electrical Box

The electrical box is an enclosure for electrical equipment and components. The purpose of it is to protect the components inside. It also protects personnel and the environment from the harm caused by the equipment.

Electrical enclosures have different standards for protection worldwide, but there is a unified European standard.
This standard specifies different aspects of enclosure performance and how they should be classified. It is classified by IEC 60529 IP code system. The IP code is followed by two digits, the first digit represents dustproof and the second digit represents waterproof. For more information about IP rating explanation please read IP Enclosures.
Different standards in different countries: CCC in China, CE in Euro, NEMA in America etc… Though different standards are used in various countries, the classification of IP code system is widely adopted, no matter EN62208 or IEC60529, low voltage or high, switchgear or electrical meter.

Why Is It So Important ?

Electricity brings the development to human society, people enjoy the convenience of electrical facilities, but also face certain risks of electrical accidents: the fire or explosions from electrical short cut or over heat occurance occasionally.
When it’s in outdoor environment, the risks such as rain, corruption, collisions, lightning strikes go higher. We have to protect the box from bad weather and also protect personnel and the environment from the harm caused by the equipment (the equipment itself is dangerously charged, accompanied by the potential danger of accidental contact, leakage, explosion), or reduce the potential harm caused by the equipment from the external situation.

How E-Abel Do It

E-Abel uses robotic arms to complete the welding process to avoid gaps in the spot during the welding process to meet customers’ IP rating requirements.
In addition, between the door panel and the enclosure, E-Abel uses a bending process and UL foam to keep water from entering the interior of the enclosure when it is closed.
When the box is in use, water seepage often occurs in the details. The door hinge is one of the key points, so our products use waterproof protective rubber cover on the door hinge. Besides, the wire inlet and outlet area is can happen water seepage too. E-abel uses waterproof rubber pads for this purpose.
In special cases E-abel also provides waterproof locks with a protection level of IP66.
There is another place on the electrical box that people tend to ignore, the door corner. Its bent form can be dangerous. The operators are easily injured from this and dust and water can enter the box through the gap. E-abel spent a lot of effort on the seamless corner press, so the door corners have a smooth surface with any gap.

E-abel designed a portable rain cap. It is conducive and it can guide the rain effectively to avoid the accumulation of rain on top of the box.
